Virginia’s Community Colleges is offering the Facilitating Career Development (FCD) certification course, which provides coaches at Virginia’s Community Colleges with the framework and tools needed for effective career coaching. All Coaches, Advisors, Faculty and Staff who have completed the Virginia Career Coach Certification (VCCC) are eligible to apply.
The FCD course builds on completion of the Virginia Career Coach Certification course, adding 80 additional hours of training comprised of seven, two-hour synchronous Zoom sessions, (total of 14 hours) reading, assignments, research, and project-based learning. Participants are expected to attend the synchronous Zoom sessions as scheduled and plan accordingly to be fully engaged.
Please note that eligibility to apply does not guarantee an enrollment in the course, and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants who successfully complete the VCCC and the FCD courses are eligible to apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) credential through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE) and the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) credential through the National Career Development Association (NCDA) Credentialing Commission. More information on how to apply for the credentials will be provided throughout the course.
